Instructions for viewing PDF files in a stream (a page at a time) for Netscape Users
Instructions for viewing PDF files in a stream (a page at a time) for Netscape Users
If you have Netscape 3.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (or higher versions of either browser) and Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher, you can view PDF 3.0 files directly within your browser.
While Microsoft Internet Explorer often configures the Acrobat Reader automatically to permit PDF files to stream directly into the browser, Netscape 3.0 users must often configure their browsers manually. If you have Netscape 3.0 or higher and Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher and you are currently unable to view PDF files within your browser, follow these instructions carefully to enable your browser to receive streamed PDF files:
- Use the Find function on your computer to locate the file nppdf32.dll or nppdf16.dll
- Move nppdf32.dll or nppdf16.dll to Netscape's plugins directory.
- Delete Reader from the Helpers panel in Netscape Navigator's Preferences dialog box. (Click "Unknown" rather than "Launch Application")
- If you do not have a 3.0 version browser or
higher, than you can configure your browser to automatically call up
Reader (noted above).
Printing PDF Files
- If you are viewing PDF files directly in your browser, the Acrobat Reader places a toolbar within the browser window.
The
printer icon at the
leftmost end of that toolbar will print out the entire document for you.
Do not use the browser's print button.
- If you are viewing PDF files in Acrobat Reader
as a helper application, you only need to select Print from the File
menu or press the print button on the Acrobat Reader toolbar.
